Nuclear Applications

ASME Code Analysis

Aerospace Structural Research Corp. provides design and analysis mechanical engineering services. Over the last three years we have greatly increased our ability to support nuclear and ASME code projects. These efforts have included:

  1. Staff training for ASME Section III (Nuclear) code methods and calculations.
  2. An upgrade of ASR's quality system to meet NRC nuclear standards for engineering
  3. Multiple engineering analysis reports and reviews completed for reactor system components.

The motivation for these efforts began with several projects involving the development of heat exchangers for Pebble Bed and IHX nuclear reactors systems. Exposure to these projects gave ASR a jump start with the ASME code calculations for nuclear applications.

ASR has achieved a high level of competency with ASME nuclear engineering. ASR's staff consists of 16 M.E. degreed full time engineers. Three are currently fully qualified to work on nuclear projects.
