ICING ANALYSIS

ASR Corporation now has the capabilities to perform icing analysis. ASR uses TECPLOT 360 for viewing and LEWICE 3D written by Colin Bidwell of NASA Glenn for performing the icing analysis.

Types of ICING

GLAZE ice is often clear and smooth.

RIME ice is rough and opaque.

MIXED ice is a combination of clear and rime ice.

RUNBACK ice is the result of water freezing on unprotected surfaces.
